    By “doing anything about it” you probably mean “tax the rich” who will hire accountants, shelter money and when the revenue does not reach “expectations” the rest of us who can’t afford to hire accountants and don’t have enough money to “shelter” will be stuck with the bill…

    GOP has stated over and over that they really want to lower spending. They really, really want to.

    They’re just having a little trouble identifying even one specific area , besides Social Security, Medicare, Planned Parenthood, and PBS.

    During the 2010 elections, John Boehner was asked to name areas to cut. His answer was something like — For God’s sake, man, we’re going to have meetings and come up with a new idea every week. Every week!

    Two thirds of the budget are so-called “entitlement programs.” They HAVE to be restructured/cut somehow to get a handle on spending.

    Take everything down 10% including Congress and Executive salaries – If they don’t find some real waste and corruption then make another cut. Miracles will start to happen when they feel the pinch!

    Yet when he gets that offer (again) he and his spokesperson say the idea is a fantasy and fairy dust.
