It's Garfield-as you've never seen him!
Come savor the existential adventures of Jon Arbuckle in Garfield Minus Garfield. Based on the phenomenon ignited by Dan Walsh's hilarious and wildly popular webcomic (beloved by The New York Times and The
Washington Post, and hailed as "inspired" by Garfield creator Jim Davis), Garfield Minus Garfield takes everyone's favorite fat cat out of the picture, leaving us with only the lonely ennui of Jon as he's left to voice thoughts about his own existence into an empty void.

Shouldn’t have removed the second speech bubble

The original art from panel three would have been funnier.

I wonder, was the “click” the sound of the phone hanging up, or his heart breaking? I know it’s coming from the phone but if you follow the arrow, it goes towards his heart. Or his stomach.

They need to rename this strip, to “Garfield Modified As We See Fit”. They certainly do more than just take Garfield out.

I agree why are they messing with the orignal art ? I think the 3rd panel in the original is a lot funnier than the blank expression Jon gives in the modified version.

Its not funny without Jon’s qoute in the third panal

I agree with the commenters. Jon’s speech in the last panel should have been kept. Much funnier that way. With or without Kitty.

Works either way.

“beloved by The New York Times and The
Washington Post” – that explains it…

Bad idea. Should have left the third panel the same.
