It's Garfield-as you've never seen him!
Come savor the existential adventures of Jon Arbuckle in Garfield Minus Garfield. Based on the phenomenon ignited by Dan Walsh's hilarious and wildly popular webcomic (beloved by The New York Times and The
Washington Post, and hailed as "inspired" by Garfield creator Jim Davis), Garfield Minus Garfield takes everyone's favorite fat cat out of the picture, leaving us with only the lonely ennui of Jon as he's left to voice thoughts about his own existence into an empty void.

You should see “The New, True Charlie Wu”…

Why, does Charlie play the bagpipes? ‘Cause if he does, I’ll pass, thanks.

AAAHHHH!!!! Who wants to hear the screeching sound that bagpipes play anyways.

There is nothing to stir the soul like the skirl o’ the pipes.

The ‘pipes comment should have stayed in the GMG - would have made it better, methinks.

He should have left the line about the bagpipes. Jon is still a picture of angst and it is so much funnier.

Nods and if they had left Garfeilds mug it woulda looked like he had actully poured a Coffee for Clive.

I like bagpipes. Jon you’re never too old to learn something new. I might still learn to play the piano or the guitar if I get a chance.

But if he does learn to play, he could get a scholarship to Monmouth College and be in their Pipe Band to teach others! That could start a whole new chapter in his life.

It’s one thing to take out the kitty cat. But if you take out the punchline in the third panel, you turn a funny comic strip into a sad, very sad little drama. It just ain’t right.

Be grateful, Jon. One blast of the pipes from you, and Nessie would rise and gobble you up!

The “Garfieild Minus Garfield” could have used the pipes

What was wrong with the bagpipes line? it didn’t refer to garfield. Also, they could have photoshopped Garfield’s hand off the mug.

Yeah, what happened to the last line? Bad job…

As WW said: Nothing like the squeal of those pipes that torture a soul, or something like that…

I was wondering why they took out the bagpipe line. The garfield-less version makes me sort of pity Jon.

I think omitting the bagpipes line is a good idea. keeping that line would make the GMG a lot less effective.

Bagpipes, accordions, saxophones…instruments that one either loves or hates. Amazing. No surprise that they’ve all been suggested as the Hellish counterparts to the harp one supposedly gets when one goes to Heaven.
Keeing the last line in for GMG would keep it funny; leaving it out makes it tragic. Your preference. I think either option has its merits.
