That one’s working both with and without Garfield, but Garfield’s sarcasm is brilliant on the last panel :P

If Garfield gave Jon a hotfoot, they’d work, all right.

Drystyha, I had problems as well. I originally wanted to post a photo of my dog Cleo, but it would stall and never accept the photo. I googled “icons” and came up with Hobbes, which I was successfully able to choose. There are a few formats that can not be matched. Apparently my jpeg was one of them. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

    They’re pink!

I had to use IE for my Avatar. Firefox was in a mood.

I work in Paint(in Windows program bundle that comes w/most computers) to crop avatars and to make image as close to avatar screen size - about 100kb to decrease distortion (may not be necessary) Then I take bmp which go comics doesn’t accept and convert it to jpg, gif, etc. using the free IRFanView program from downloads.com.

Back to Paint: Tools to manipulate the image and image field are accessed through the “Image” button on the main toolbar, and then on the “Attributes” selection, or you can drag and drop the size(the white area of the image field)by grabbing the grip on the bottom corner; otherwise the extra white area shows up on the avatar.

Drystyha: That’s okay, I was too wordy and used obtuse thinking. After thinking it over, I’ve narrowed it down to two possibilities (from my experience).

    1. Did you press “SAVE” on the edit avatar page? Clicking the browse button opens the file tree and you then select the picture file. The picture file name shows up in the window; but, doesn’t actually change until you press “SAVE” and then gocomics uploads the image.

2.The other possibility (that I ran into) was that the file has the wrong extension - pretty.EXT - where .EXT represents the extension. Gocomics will reject BMPs (pretty.bmp) and maybe others but will accept GIFs (pretty.gif) for sure and others that are named in the event gocomics cant use your previous extension. That’s where the image file conversion software programs comes in ( I use the IRfanView program from downloads.com)
    -Hope that helps!

NoFearPup, I’ll give it a try and see what happens when I have more time. If you see a new photo by my name, you’ll know it worked!
