Aye S.N. Spot on! If ONLY Jon had taken my advice and gotten the tank of piranha. It would have been Fur, tooth and claw Against teeth, teeth, teeth. and may the better predator win…no slight meant to Arnold S’s movie of course.

Knowing Jon’s luck, he’d have bought a tank of herbiferous pirhana.

Most of our cats ignore the fish. The only one that doesn’t knows she’s not allowed to eat the fish, and so won’t give them a second look if someone’s watching her. If you leave her alone, however, it can be a different story. I say “can”, because it depends entirely upon how bored she is. Typically, she’ll mind her manners and leave them be. But if she’s terribly bored, she finds them irresistible. Fortunately, she can’t open the lid to their tanks and three gallons of water is no easy thing to push off the shelf so she always gets caught in the act (nobody will leave her alone with the fish for long, and there is a door, so she can be kept out if need be. There’s just no predicting how bored she is).

Jon will be next to share one of his stories and the fish will say “BORING HUMAN!”

I had a 145 lb Bull Mastiff, with a very intimidating persona. But visitors were in in almost certain and immediate danger of being licked to death. From afar he was a wonderful watch dog. Up close not so much.
