I don’t see him as naive so much as missing a screw somewhere. Maybe not so much a turnip wagon, but he may well have fallen off of something…head first.

You can take the kid out of the park, but you can’t take the park out of the kid.

True, but Jon *is* a kid.

Wow, the administration is really getting the propaganda machine revved up.
I have nothing against volunteering for a good cause. I’ve volunteered for causes/charities that are important to me.
I don’t have anything against promoting volunteerism in the media. Media outlets can bring a worthy cause to the attention of a lot of people.
However, it gives me an uneasy feeling when a government coordinates the message. This is especially true when the National Endowment for the Arts is used as a carrot for compliance.

Jon is half a dozen cans short of a 6 pack… hehe
I like working in Security, because I can do things other people can’t … for example, I was at a sugar factory a while ago, and took a trip up the gangplank of the cargo ship and spoke with the 2O and he gave us a brief tour … it was quite fun.

Ji2m I was happy to hear a call for volunteers during the campaign. I thought it was something you did all year long, not all week long. I feel if someone wants to help out with their time or money, that’s great. But tax me because the government says who I want to help? Some nut will end up paying my tax dollars for the betterment of underfed cockroaches. I’d rater donate my time and money elsewhere.

I have volunteered for the past 10 years at my synagogues weekly Lunch Program for the poor and lonely.
Yesterday, we fed 154 people.
There’s a sense of accomplishment in that that no money can buy.
It’s really a pity that the government feels forced to coax people to volunteer. But, as I mentioned in another post, at least one generation has grown up in the “me first” era, and have passed their narrow, self-serving values on to their children. That’s why many schools make community service a requirement for graduation, even before the government stepped in.

Please keep political agenda out of the comics.
jaiel said, about 1 month ago
Did you jump off?
pbrown280c said, about 1 month ago
Once again whitet3260 is on the mark. Susan001 seeks to silence those with different points of view (sound familiar?)
If a cartoonist want to be a political cartoonist, they know where to go.
This is inexcusable.

“propaganda” “political agenda” “inexcusable”
SO many people up in here, when finished clutchin’ they pearls, need to learn the actual definitions of the above words and phrases.
Such bitterly withered husks of humanity, you seem.

You said it, crunkbot. My head is spinning trying to figure out how anyone can read what Susan001 said and interpret it as “seeking to silence” anyone.
