uh … I have 200 channels on my DVR plus an unlimited number online via various websites (like Hulu)

and sometimes … there is NOTHING to watch, so I re-watch a decent movie from the PVR library or from my DVD Library

Allan, how sad is it that we’ve come to that? I do the same thing… sigh

Hey! New invention! Books. I know, you have to turn on the light, but it is worth it.

That’s not a joke: it’s a real life description. Jim Davies should turn the TV off…

Not too many channels, so much as too many MBA’s that need to justify their salaries/existence as network executives.

Oh, I’m sorry, did I stumble upon The Huffington Post? I thought I was on the comments section of the Garfield comic strip. My bad.

wow, my post got deleted. Thanks moderators for running such a tight ship here on the garfield comment section. You’re doing a great job

How come Fishtix didn’t get his post deleted? Are personal attacks on someone’s politics ok on this board?

I have to pay for basic and extended basic cable channels with Cox where I live. Cox claims those together equal 70 channels but, in reality there are only 64 and several of them are just advertising networks.

My older sister lives in a almost rural community in Kansas and the complex for seniors and disabled people where she lives has cable TV provided as part of the lease. They get 115 channels. But, the TV in the living room is an older analog type and they get 65 channels on it. But they have one of those combo analog-HD TVs in the bedroom which is a 13 inch size.

But, my brother-in-law seems somewhat addicted to professional wrestling and if that is on one of the basic channels, he will watch it.

Since he knows that it is not for real and even admitted it, I wonder why he has to watch men wearing only briefs and wrestling shows rub their bodies together and claim to be “straight.”

That’s more entertaining than most reality shows these days.

    No TOO MANY CHANNELS,

TOO MANY CHANNELS producing those stupid NON-reality shows.

If HISTORY CHANNEL and DISCOVERY CHANNEL keeps producing more new bleeep, I won’t have ANY CHANNELS to watch.

Sometimes you do have to watch something on T.V. that seems dumb.

Watch TV? I’d rather read/watch something on the internet, pick up a good book, play a game with my son(s), target practice, etc. than watch TV. (Fact: the only time I watch TV now is when I’m away from home - like in a motel room. There is no way I can watch TV at home, because it is analog, and we didn’t bother upgrading.)

It’s not that there are too many channels; there’s just too much bleeep on those channels.

Me, I love Hallmark Channel, where I watch such great oldies as THE GOLDEN GIRLS, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, etc.

Comments keep me going. And my favoriate Dancing With The Starts. I do try to fit in book reading when I can. I have seen but cannot afford a small electronic box you can download tons of books to read. I work pt and my boss has one and he bought one for his mother. When I get bored of TV I go read.
