I’ve always wondered, what is in Garfield’s bowl. It looks like mud or something.

Why would Odie want to eat cat food anyway?

I like Odie’s devilish grin in panel 4.

Odie will eat anything.
Garfield’s food comes out of a bag called “Cat Chow” and is mixed with water.

Actually the bowl says “Garfield” - Odie was going to steal Garfield’s food.

I love that Grin of Odie’s too. LOL
Now that was one risky move Odie, going after Garfield’s food.
But notice how Garfield ate on the fly …. LOL.

In the Online, Odie’s ears get lost in the gradient.

Odie was way too slow. Shoulda gone for it in panel 4 before Garfield showed up. Speed it up, boy!

pouncingtiger, dogs love cat food because of the high protein level. Cat food is mostly protein (meat), dog food has more grain products than protein.
If you were a dog, would you rather have bread, or meat?

Garfield can trick Odie so easily.

haha Panel 4 is PRICELESS … and his dumb lost blond look in the last panel is hilarious too.
But never try to eat Garfield’s food … it isn’t around long enough.

This is - er… was - Garfield’s idea of fast food. Odie is too slow for fast food.

When I dogsat for a friend I always had to put the cat food up where the dog couldn’t reach it.
The cats had no interest in the dog food.

My dog eats anything someone else will eat! Watching a dog eat spaghetti or salad is hilarious!! lol

The point is Odie is so dumb he thinks HE ate the food!

I would have expected some violence from Garfield, instead of just a swallow and a dissapearence leaving poor little Odie to his wits. It was quite funny though! (: Especially Odie’s evil grins in panels 5, and 4.

Would have been better had the bowl had ‘Odie’

Gotta love that Odie!

That was an excellent almost change of pace. Garfield sometimes eats Odie’s food and now Odie gets his revenge. Gee. Odie was so stupid when he turned back, he thought he already had eaten Garfield’s food.
This is nearly like the 10 Feb. ‘80 Sunday strip where Garfields swings from a vine to get Jon’s meal. Jon, puzzled after seeing Garfield take his meal, thinks to himself to know from where that vine came.
So in the 20th anniversary Garfield book (which I have), Davis described that strip (and what I’ll call today’s) “the ol’ ‘left-turn-in-the-last-frame’ kind of gag.”

Why would Odie want to eat cat food? Because dogs can’t read the label, of course.
