   Well my first thought was that Jon was wearing the new shoes which caused the squeek and he was carrying the old shoes. But Garfield’s expression tells us the squeek is something else. I don’t think we want to know we just want to get as far away as possible.

    Reminds me of a movie that’s getting emailed around. I think it’s an Asian supermarket. The old lady’s walker seems to be squeaking, and the helpful clerk oils it, only to discover that it’s the old lady who’s squeaking.

    Ray - that is like the commercial, where a guy is in an old AMC jalopy and he’s listening to some hip-hop music, and it’s got a nice beat… however, when he shuts off the music, the engine continues to have a beat LOL

    Sometimes a joke is so dumb that it’s actually quite hilarious. Kudos to Jim Davis on this one: The goal is to make the reader laugh, and this one succeeded!

    When I read it, I assumed it was his joints creaking because he’s getting old. After reading the comments though, I’m not so sure…
