Temper temper Garfield. Can’t you take a little humour unless you’re the one making it?

Way to go, Garfield. You cleaned his clock!

Melissa…my mother-in-law has a talking wrist watch ($17 at Radio Shack) since she’s nearly blind. She uses it as a weapon. When she wants to be taken home, she’ll push the button, or when I arrive a little late to pick her up. On a long car drive, she keeps pushing it and the first couple of times I nearly drive off the road! The thing is LOUD! (She’s hard of hearing, too.) (And it’s a good thing…if you catch my drift.) The thing sounds like Donald Duck, by the way.

Thanks for the info Ray! I didn’t realize that you could get a talking watch that cheaply. That could be helpful for children, dementia victims, and others who can’t read a clock, besides blind people.

Ray C - My lady friends daughter is blind and has a watch like that. She does the same thing. If we’re running behind she lets us know it.

Hi, Doc. We have to cut them some slack, though, don’t we? They have it tough.
The bad part is when she accidentally hits the button that has it speak out on every hour when we’re not around to reset it, or when she accidentally sets the alarm to ON and it wakes her up every night at midnight until I can get over there and fix it for her.
But you have to love their spunk.
RRAmon: Funny you should mention children. Her great-grandchildren love to play with it, and she loves hearing the giggles and laughter. And this thing is not a fashionable piece of jewelry by any stretch. But hey, it does its job very well.
