Well, now … Jon hasn’t done anything wrong (yet), technically. Armando’s getting a bit ahead of himself …

Dilbert’s “cloud of doom” is looming over this date.

It’s funny Jon couldn’t tell that Armando was being sarcastic.

Mr. “full of himself” expects the utmost in service and dedication.

emm… excuse me, can anybody show me the point of this strip? why that’s a sarcasm?
Manhunter808 said, 9 months ago
The strip doesn’t have a point.. and Jon doesn’t have a clue! Ain’t it grand?? :))
Manhunter808 said, 9 months ago
Oh.. and Armando shall plunge the fork into his heart because Jon says it’s dirty? Umm… do you really need an explanation as to why that’s sarcasm? Puh-leeze!

Armando should be happy that he’s not on fire again.
prasrinivara said, 9 months ago
Actually, Manhuther808–isn’t the point of the strip Jon’s utter cluelessness and IQ only a smidgen above that of Doc-Boy?

Perhaps Armando wants to die from infection rather than embarrassment or being set on fire again!

Why can’t Jon just wipe his dirty fork with his napkin?
Boomzilla said, 9 months ago
Aside from having a single panel cartoon I am trying to get a syndication contract for I am a server myself in the evenings. I am gonna have to use this line in real life should the opportunity present itself!

Surely Jon’s complaining about a dirty fork is not representative of the problems he causes?
This kind of goes against the flow of the week’s strips so far. It makes it look like Armando is a drama king, rather than Jon being a problem customer.

Macushlalondra says: Why can’t Jon just wipe his dirty fork with his napkin?
But supposedly if Jon notices the dirty food spots on that fork, he should tell Armando to replace for clean fork for Jon, eh!
prasrinivara said, 9 months ago
For Macushlaondra, wouldn’t his ugly jacket or tie be even better–as the dirt wouldn’t even be noticed on them, unless it actually improves the awful garments.

Derek Dong is Chinese, and is trying to understand this to explain to his fellow readers. He asked a sensible question.
~Derek, it’s probably too late for this answer to be of help, but I’ll try anyway. Armondo is being overly dramatic by saying that he’ll plunge the dirty fork into his heart. You know that he’d never do such a thing, beacause he really doesn’t care that the fork is dirty. That’s why Liz says that he’s being sarcastic.
chinook2 said, 9 months ago
I think Armando gave him the dirty fork on purpose
Manhunter808 said, 9 months ago
Well, margueritem, my apologies to Mr. Dong… it’s sarcasm because it meets the definition of sarcasm. There! :D

to margueritem:
thank you for your help, and also thanks for all your kindly guys to help me understand this strip. and this is a timely explanation for I translate it into Chinese.
