and HOW OLD is that phone? I didn’t realize that Garfield was still stuck in the EARLY 1980’s LOL
Jahosacat said, 10 months ago
Hey! That phone looks like the one in my den - the only one that worked during last months power outage….

Our wall hung phone is still a dial phone ben there since about 1968, It’s hard wired into the system so therre is no wall jack to plug it in or out, never got rid of it, but there is also a good reason to keep one around even if you do have wall jacks. Most of the time when the power goes out you phone service is still available. However if you ahve a phone thayt requires some kind of elctricity, IE: being a cordless or haveing an answering machine as part of it, with no Power it wont work. The old dialer still works even if the power is out for several days which some times happens in these parts.

Can’t really blame Odie for getting startled. I mean, how often does the phone ring in the Arbuckle household anyway? That’s probably why Jon still has an 80’s style phone!

Yeah, I don’t like those phones, either!

Possible response #1: Hey, Garfield’s not the only character.
Possible response #2: Maybe he’s subconsciously giving GMG less to work with in the future.
Possible response #3: This would actually make a pretty good GMG if they took Odie out. That wouldn’t be any more cheating than some of what they do already.

I have often marveled at how Jim Davis (possibly with his army of assistants) manages to come up with funny ideas day after day after day. But this is not one of those days.

I guess most people haven’t known an intellectually challenged pooch - they don’t really get any smarter, just mellower with age. I think it’s hysterical.
