    How many dead men does it take to change a light bulb? Doesn’t matter, they can’t do it anyway.

    Winky Dink and You

    As an Old Wolf, I have the distinction of having owned a Winky Dink Kit, and having used it. I can’t count how many times I saved the world with my crayons.

    RE: blog………….
    Oh, Teresa! That’s my ring in the lower right quarter of the picture. The one with all the round pink settings! It’s an Avon ring from back in the late 60’s, possibly early 70’s. I wondered where it went. Yes, I confess, I was a ‘Ding Dong Lady’. :)

    @The Old Wolf

    Religiously every Saturday in the 50s and early 60s I watched Jon Gnagy on TV. As the precursor to Bob Ross I was fascinated by his show.

    I even bought his art kit but somehow never lived up to his promise that, “Soon you too can learn to draw.”

    Being dead and ANY ideas don’t mix. —Dead, you know. Finished. Kaput. No-longer-thinking!

    I wasn’t a Winky Dink fan, but when Jon Gnagy came on, I was glued to the set (in beautiful black, grey and white) with my ‘Learn To Draw Set’. Unfortunately, my drawing skills went from bad to ever-so-slightly not quite as bad.

    It’s not unknown that the big idea was the reason for being dead.

    Whose dead anyway?
    Bring ‘on’ the big ideas, and put them down.

    re Bone Wars game on FB

    Another aspect of the ‘war’ was the race between Marsh and Cope to see who could discover and name the most species. Marsh won by a healthy margin, 86 to Cope’s 50. This, of course, led to yet another ahem bone of contention between the two.

    Both eventually had dinosaurs named after them by later paleontologists:Othnielia (Galton, 1977), Marshosaurus bicentesmus (Madsen, 1976), Drinker (Bakker, 1990).

    it seems the canal barge is referred to as a “narrow boat” and there seems to be a bit of an industry renting them out for holiday, they have them outfitted like american RV’s. All the comforts of home “at a ‘heady’ 4-6 MPH
