Comments appear not to be registering, but I’m chiming in to say that I read Frog Applause, even when there’s no Frog Applause to be read. 9 out of 10 voices in my head agree.

Though I never have much to say

I check FA several times a day

It’s a wealth of wisdom and fun filled fact

It is a pity gocomics can’t get together it’s act

I find Teresa to be funny, intelligent and hot

Though Vlad may not like me voicing that thought

So hang in there froggy, though it may be rough

’cause many of us cannot get enough.

It seems to me to be more of an extra-para-terrestrial-normal experience. One wonders if tentacles might be involved. Slimy BEMs might find this special time just peachy-keen for them.

As for FA, methinks the great (snicker) overlords of GoComics have had their simple, primitive mental processes overwhelmed by the extraordinary lexicological powers of our Sublime Suzerain of Surreality, a.k.a. Teresa, thus causing said processes (snort) to be flummoxed, discombobulated and otherwise befuddled. It takes time for less evolved beings to assimilate new things such as language. One could almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

I, too, check FA several times a day to see what sorts of merry madness, fun facts and interesting thoughts my fellow FA aficianados have come up with. Keep on froggin’ ‘n’ bloggin’, Ms. T in KC. (Do you realize that since I live in Japan, you can justifiably say you have an international following?)

The intro is Portuguese, but the song (provided by Raidue, Italy’s “channel 2”) is in Italian. “Datemi un martello” means “Gimme a hammer,” and she sings “I want to smack anyone I don’t like in the head.”

The Rita Pavone hammer song was based on Pete Seeger’s If I Had A Hammer. The Italian version of Wikipedia says Sergio Bardotti rewrote the lyrics to bowdlerise any political references and make it a ‘sweet’ pop song for adolescents.
One of the verses: Datemi un martello Che cosa ne vuoi fare Lo voglio dar in testa A chi non mi va A tutti le coppie Che stano apiccicati Che vogliono le luce spente E le canzone lente Che noia mi da
Give me a hammer What’re you going to do about it? I want to swing it at the head Of people who piss me off Such as all the couples Canoodling like pigeons Who want the lights turned down And slow songs What a drag that is.
    (my translation)
