    @Gaijinrabbit and others
    While The Unofficial GoComics Style Guide still has a lot of great tips, it appears the GoComics has deprecated much of the Markdown language in deference to HTML. So may I introduce to you Sgt Peppers

    A Quick How To

    The above heading is Heading Style 3, that is < h3 >A Quick How To< /h3 > (no spaces within the <>). Other heading style ( i.e. 1 – 6) can be used. For instance style 5 results in Red text.
    Heading Style 5

    Bold Face Bracket text with a single asterisk

    Italics Bracket text with an underscore

    Underscore asterisk Bold Italic asterisk underscore

    Strike through Bracket text with a single hyphen – To use a hyphen, bracket the hyphen with a blank space.

    To insert a blank line use < p > or < br > (no spaces within the <>) at the end of a line.

    Insert a link:
    <!--a href="http://blogs.gocomics.com">Go Comics Blog</a--> but without the ! or –

    Go Comics Blog

    Insert an image:
    The HTML takes the following form;
    <!--a href="http://photobucket.com/images/retro" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l497/eapost/Funnies/humorretro.jpg" border="0" alt="humor retro Pictures, Images and Photos" *Width="125" Height="125"* ></a-->
    humor retro Pictures, Images and Photos

    Sites like Photobucket provide an HTML string that you can paste into your comment but – and this is important – the image may too large for the comment area. Insert the modifiers Width=“125” Height=“125” as show above. The Width and Height can then be adjusted for readability. But, IMHO, the size of any image you insert should be no more than ¼ the area of a single panel of the comic strip.
    Note:

    Not all websites will allow you to embed their images.

    Tks Hobbes, Grog and others for their comments.
