"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

Speaking as a dumb, fat lout who will eat anything, I find this offensive.

Yeah, you big, dumb lout! Go ahead! Eat them!

Her black heart was full of a bitter loathing akin to the acid reflux of a thousand roadside tacos as she deftly showed him her tray full of baked evil.
But he was not so sure. After all, he wasn’t entirely convinced the radio she had accidently knocked into his bathwater this morning had really been that much of an accident. If the device had possessed a longer power cord, he would have been fried fatty for sure!
“Eat them up, I made them just for you,” she taunted him.
Oh, how she hated his midnight flatulence, his off key hip-hop, his excursions into the cluttered closets of communist coruscating cows… the list was endless of the things she dispised about him.
But it was the cap that she hated most of all. When she was finally free of Fatty she would fling it as far as she could!

Strawberry tart? That doesn’t have too much rat in it. How many rats are in it? Three. That’s rather a lot really…

“Haven’t had mushroom pancakes in a month o’ Sundays!”
What was that Clint Eastwood movie? “The Beguiled.”
That guy’s name wouldn’t happen to be “Brewster Rockit” would it?
Happy “Day of the Dead” Teresa.

Margueritem’s comment reminded me of this older riddle
Why did the widow wear black negligee?
