"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

Wolfskin would be warmer than just a plain ol’ hood, i guess.

At first I saw a chick in wolf’s clothing. But now I see maybe that’s Winston Churchill’s black dog. I hope not Teresa.

That reminds me of the serial killer whose last meal was a can of SpaghettiOs.

I learned a new word on the blog today (two words, actually):
http://www.answers.com/topic/vedette
Thanks, Teresa. They say that the best way to learn a new word is to use it in a sentence. Since it has two meanings (as the picture so cleverly exploits…I think!), the job’s a little tougher, but here goes:
Would it be a stretch to ask you to be my vedette?
Ugh. That’s not even wrong.
I, the master of the double entendre, am stymied.
P.S. This and the entries in the caption contest were a good illustration of why you get paid for humor and we have to pay for it.

Go Raptor! We have a sharpshinned hawk that just returned from its summer vacation and is looking for a few squirrels or slow birds every morning, about sun up.

Methinks you cry personal chips once too often, Grandma.
