"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

You are so right! Real men go, “Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.” when they see Curly Howard.

I told my boss I do the work of 3 men. He said, yeah, Larry, Curly and Moe.

jukeofuri: Sure you aren’t biased?
And besides, during the McCarthy era, did they not refer to them as “communist stooges?” (ahh.. there’s a duo that sang out of tune… Lenin and McCarthy)
I always liked the “circular reasoning” of the Marx brothers,
( walking in circles while Groucho tried to think of something…)

Moe, Larry, cheese. Just as long as there’s no Shemp or Joe. Curly Howard was a genius every bit the equal of Groucho. Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard.Woo woo woo woo. Look at the grouse! Look at the grouse! Ahh, wake up and go to sleep.

…does the artist read the comments and ask,so this is what my art brings ,bad one liners? or does the artist simply accept this faint praise as payment for her troubles? Are the comments suppose to examine the art, line forms, word usage…over indulge in platitudes of greatness, banal pats on the back?Do the comments add anything to the artist’s repertoire.Does it(they) create or inspire the artist in anyway?Do the comments stroke the artist ego?Letting lame B.S. pass for art or do they make the atrist not feel worthy of the glory bestowed upon them?Pushing the artist on further into better and/or diferent directions? Is this worth the commentor’s time..well,for me it is….

I think, @3hrtour, whether or not the one liners are bad, the BS is lame, or it is worth the commentor’s time, is subjective judgment. It is hard to say how, but it is quite obvious to me that the comments affect the artist and thus the art. Looked upon with a wider lens, the comments are actually part of the art.

Especially at Frog Applause; on most other strips, everybody’s just ranting their politics or killing time.

I think that paranoid guy kinda looks like P.K. Dick, so maybe the police really are watching him through Curly’s eyes.
