"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

I’m trying really hard to find the humor in this. But, all I see is a Black bear wanting a Watermelon popsicle. I guess it’s just suppose to be cute like Pooh, but edgier.
@Teresa Cute heart-shaped eyepatch. Unless it’s suppose to be scary. Then, I’m afraid.

Cannot for the life of me read the text in the lady’s speech balloons.

@plight:
First panel: “Silly ol’ bear. Be my guest.”
Second panel: “Try doing something scary.”
Doing a “More -> View larger” might help, or it might not. (The “More” function is near the lower right corner of the strip.
