"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

Thank you, Pained Smile. I missed the fine print.

I don’t understand why a kid with a big chest is a good spokesperson for potato chips. Eat our chips, get COPD?! Maybe Chesty should have sold candy cigarettes.

COPD?

Were Chesty Potato Chips a regional or a national brand? I’ve never heard of them.

COPD=Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. I believe it gives sufferers a barrel-shaped chest.

In Australia, Chesty sells singlets.
See http://www.bonds.com.au/#aboutUs
Currently he is the nemesis of those who oppose textile industry jobs being exported to sweatshop countries.

What’s a singlet? (It sounds like a single Chiclet).

yes! I forgot about Chesty potato chips! they were distributed in the midwest (in Indiana, at least) up until the sixties or seventies…they sponsored many kid’s shows on the local tv channel–gone the way of Sap’s pastries and Omar Bread and Polk’s milk

Singlets are what my son would call wife-beaters …sleeveless tee-shirts
