"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

I wish I’d figured that out about myself, when I was that young.

Doing creative things alone and in secret will make you go blind and cause hair to grow on your palms.

Playing solitaire on the computer can be done alone and/or in secret is a non-sexual creative activity in my household!

So if it isnt about sex what is she talking about? Poetry? That should always be kept private. But what is her poetry about? Sex, more than likely. What else could she be doing solo? Hrmm. Planning a revolution? Sooner or later she’ll need help. A murder? Again, sooner or later she’ll have to come out the closet, so to speak. She enjoys singing but has a terrible voice? Possible, but not likely. If she is reading what is she reading about that she doesnt want anyone to know? We’re back to sex again. This is a tough one.

progan I am having somewhat of a trouble comprehending the role of ‘quick wit’ in that act.
