"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

I wonder if I can still comment here although the “Pibgorn” cult is against me for criticizing it.

I never could stand any comic whose whole shtick was to act drunk. I have nothing against alcohol, just drunks.

Sure you can, but be forewarned the Pibgorn fans are everywhere. I love the comic, (9 Chickweed Lane, too) but don’t have the time to follow all the posts on the pib page. Brookes’ fans are a VERY dedicated bunch, aren’t they?

~ An article I read quite a while ago said that Dean Martin never drank, that it was all an act, and a good one, too.

~Yes, we are. My advice to itsme is that when you come across a comic that has truly dedicated fans, expect some flack if you criticise it. It’s knd of like going to a Elvis fan convention and hollering,”Elvis sucks!” The fans aren’t going to be too happy with you. The Pibgorn site has some of the most intelligent and thoughtful people that it has been my pleasure to meet, in fact I met one of them yesterday for lunch and had a delightful time.
