"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

It’s nice to see our young people eager to do the honorable thing.

Possible replies:
Was he dead when you found him or did you help him along?
So that’s why “Garfield” wasn’t in today’s paper.
That’s nice, honey. Now I won’t have to go to the butcher’s shop.
Flush it. If it’s good enough for the baby alligator…
Under the azalea bushes, dear. They’re looking a little droopy, and he’ll be good fertilizer.
Go ahead, but check his pockets first.

If there is a dead cartoonist in the yard, you better call Dick Tacy. He’s got this huge vowel-killing robot now, should be a cinch for him to find the killer, or killerS.
I’ll bet the deceased is Chip Dunham who does “Overboard.” Those mice are always up to no good.

gerry777:
Thanks.
Teresa loves words and plays with them in various situations. The strip lets the readers use their imaginations to create their own ideas of what is going on. Teresa usually has an idea in mind when she does a strip, but feel free to add your own interpretation.
