"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

Up in the sky… it’s a unicorn, it’s the State Bird of Missouri, it’s an…an… elephant fetus!

You are an amazing superhero, elefetus. You’re able to live outside of your mother’s womb AND fight crime.

But, is he faster then a speeding locomotive?

Amniotic fluid is his supersonic fuel, Miss Marguerite. If you must know, locomotives look like they’re standing still when elefetus zooms by.

Ms.Dowlatshahi constantly amazes with this wunderful unpredictable strip. F.A. should be in every paper in America. It is the state of what modern comics should be.
On a totally different note,I do believe that Elefetus is the Catholic patron saint for drunk drivers.

We don’t get a newspaper. I read all my comics on line, and I don’t have an publisher’s opinion getting in my way.
Sloop, since elephants have such a long gestation period, Elefetus made his entrance much earlier then is usual for he knew he had an important role to fill.

I’m somewhere between being confused and being grossed out

It's like Freddie the Flying Fetus —but an elephant!
