    My son recently got his first good paying job. He came over for dinner one night and complained about how big the tax bite was out of his paycheck. I explained that most of that comes from the tax and spend attitudes of politicians, especially the democratic party (albeit they certainly have no lock on wasteful spending…).

    Surprise, the next time my son came over (he is 25) he exclaimed, Dad I am now a Republican!! Oh really I said, why? I work work hard for that money Dad, it’s not fair that the government takes so much of it – I want politicians that at least recognize that it is my money to start with – not ones that start with the premise that they get to decide how much to leave me. Good boy that son of mine.

    @ColoradoRon

    Democrats keep it on the books, Republicans keep their spending off the books. Tax and spend Democrats, borrow and spend Republicans.

    I think the present administration is doing plenty of “borrowing” from our kids.Any talk of eliminating deficit spending is BS.

    No, you are wrong. Right now we need to spend not cut. You don’t cut during a Depression.
