    I hate it when my food touches. Petey Otterloop probably does too.

    Before getting up at the end of the meal say, “May I please be excused?”

    I didn’t want my food touching either when I was young and if I had three different things on my plate, I would eat all of one thing, then move on to the other. :)

    @Calamity Jane

    I wasn’t a fanatic about food touching, but I, too, ate all of one thing at a time. Still do, to some extent.

    Calamity Jane: Mexican? It is their tradition. The whole idea of the combination platter came about when El Fenix in Dallas ran out of separate dishes in the early 1920s.

    Food never stayed on my plate long enough for touching to bother me !

    I loved the scene from Monk, late in the series, when his dad was giving a deep heart-to-heart, and Monk says, “It’s touching,” and Dad thinks he’s really growing in his ability to relate—until Adrian points out his food is touching…

    @bmonk

    That was a GOOD show. It’s still on in repeats but I forget which channel. Hubby records them.
