The Rule of Benedict has been cited as the first known example of captialism, because it advises that the monastery should always sell more cheaply than others.
.
It only works if they produce so much that others cannot also sell their wares.

You guys ever hear of Christian Brothers or Dom Perion (sp?, Dom Perion discovered champagne by the way), by the way, Dom is Frog-speak for Abbot and the Christian Brothers is the name of their holy order, just thought you’d like to know…one other tidbit for any Catholics out there, St. Benedict also warned to keep Priests from key positions within the Abby as they have a tendency to take over, St. Benedict was, after all a brother not a Priest.

2. Become filthy rich at all costs
3. Go to confession and be forgiven all misdeeds.
