    That’s true. My wife went back to school and got her degree. Two years later she still can’t get a job and debt collecters are calling the house. We are considring bankruptcy soon.

    Yep. If you graduated, all the state employment office has for you is assistant manager at a fast food joint (it’s weekends and “training” so you don’t even qualify for minimum wage). Most other places are out if you are religious (weekends only) or have moral objections to flogging narcotics (tobacco) or running numbers (state lottery, a tax on desperation). Yes, Virginia, a liberal arts major is valuable – you have learned how to learn and can shift to something else when some uneducated boss or blacklist tells you that you are a threat to their power and therefore unwanted.

    Considering the dearth of jobs for degreed people today it is getting over qualified that might actually hider you getting any lesser job.
