That brings back a few memories. I had to have my poor old Pickle dog put to sleep on Saturday, but lots of good memories ad pictures remain.

Aww! That’s so sad! It’s terrible to lose a good friend like that. Blessings on you and Pickle!

That’s so sad – I know exactly how it feels. But pets, unlike some people, only leave us with good memories. The pictures always bring a on a smile.

Two of my saddest days involved dogs and the school where I taught. Ruffie was obviously sick when I took her to the vet in the morning – and she had a “daddy don’t leave me, I’m scared” look. Shortly before I had to go and teach a two hour class I got a call from the vet – Ruffie had died. Not one of my better classes needless to say. The other was a stray that wandered into the school. I tried to find an owner to no avail. A few days later I took “little friend” (no name) to the Humane Society. Unfortunately he had an eye problem so the intake person said they would have to put him down. Understandably since they can’t place all the healthy dogs they get. Nonetheless I was pretty teary when I left, and she made matters worse when she wished me a “nice day.”

I can imagine. Life is sad sometimes but there’s always a chance for happiness in the future. You do the right thing and it hurts sometimes. But so long as you do the best for your animal friends then you’ve been a good friends to them.
