Got a new dog yesterday. I hope she ‘gets’ the dog door soon. She’s very timid, but she watches the other three dogs use it and seems to be intrigued. Looks like a 50 lb Corgi, but the shelter says she’s part Shepard. No problems with the old, cranky toy poodles so far and that’s the most important thing.
And not peeing on the rug.

They make you sleep in the kitchen and not on their bed? They are mean!

Good job, David – thanks for adopting a rescue dog. I have a rescue dog that sound like she could be twins with yours. Her name is Leia Round (and that’s what she does most).

Mine has set routines. One of them is around 9:30 at night, he wants to go out for the last time. He checks the yard to make sure it’s secure, comes in and goes in his crate. We put a couple of treats in his bone, and he’s good to go.

To have her “get” the dog door, just stand on the other side of it with a treat, and also push the flaps so that she will see that she can go in and out.
