what a good idea. I have done this too. we are having 100* temps and no rain. anything I save is usually gone by the end of the next day.

In Colorado, USA, it is illegal to capture rain water. Someone downstream has primary water rights.

In the US West, with water, anything grows. Without water, nothing grows. So water is for sale. Read the Milagro Beanfield War (which basically agrees with you that it’s a stupid law).
