What are they; saltines or some kind of combustible?

For NoFearPup–Brit (and Indian) term “crackers” oft (and in this case) means fireworks.

I should not have enjoyed our Christmas table gatherigs without crackers.

It ‘cracks’ when pulled apart. Very popular in UK. There are also little gifts inside, like small toys, ‘fortunes’, etc. We have them in USA but mostly sold for kids Birthday Parties.

Thanks for the explanations. I wouldn’t have known they were firecrackers. It looked to me like some big piece of candy they were fighting over.

Thank you for the info! Saltines could be pretty messy… (Crackers)reminds me of those “poppers” you throw on the ground.
