    For NoFearPup–Brit (and Indian) term “crackers” oft (and in this case) means fireworks.

    It ‘cracks’ when pulled apart. Very popular in UK. There are also little gifts inside, like small toys, ‘fortunes’, etc. We have them in USA but mostly sold for kids Birthday Parties.

    Thanks for the explanations. I wouldn’t have known they were firecrackers. It looked to me like some big piece of candy they were fighting over.
