The obvious question is: was the first an excuse?

An excuse is a lie/deception with a sugar coating.

If something actually happened, it’s not an excuse. It’s a reason.

(I’ve actually had the silly cat ambush me at the door when I had an appointment. ZZZOOOOM! It’s hard to herd cats and she’s no exception.)

That’s not late at 7:27. The clocks signify the passage of time to the next day.

My case too keith. And it does hurt. I changed it with my own kids though. They knew if they played hooky I would show up in class with them the next day. They never skipped school. That I know of anyway. lol

That is a great scene, filled with really poor excuses.

I’m with you on this one, Gaunt. Consider the phrase “legitimate excuse”.

What gets me about meeting people today is that many don’t bother with excuses. Instead, they text you every ten minutes with a travelogue:

    “Running late.”
    “Just left.”
    “Traffic on the expressway.”’
    “Stopping for gas.”
    “Ten minutes away.”
    “Rounding the corner.”

I can’t get over how much Frazz looks like Calvin from “Calvin and Hobbes”, come to think of it, so does the kid in the 3rd panel.

I don’t think she believed any of his excuses. She just found him charming in his pathetic dishonesty.

It’s the way he wiggled his eyebrows when he looked up at her after his ridiculous list. That’s what that got him through. Puppy dog eyes.

Perhaps not, but I’m sure the punctuation marks have noticed.

I’m not making excuses, I’m just saying what happened. It only becomes an excuse when accepted as a valid reason.
