    Reference your comment on the 12th:
    Wednesday night at church we looked at Psalm 85. I glanced back at the beginning of Psalm 84, and immediately thought of you.

    @ Charles Smith’s yesterdays comment

    I respectfully disagree, as the Night-Gaunt49 wrote.
    I like it!

    Caulfield is clever, sharp and fast. He is annoying only people who cannot follow him.

    I yesterday just wondered what kind of profession Caulfield would choose.

    And yes, I know, he is only a protagonist in a comic.

    In every old person exists a young person who wonders what has happened.

    I guess if you win Mrs. Olson over as a friend – which will not be easy because old people don’t trust others so easily anymore, they take their time – you will be surprised how full of zest and mischief she is. And you can trust her with your life as we have seen at the beginning of this story.

    Her best trick was changing her “chicken arm” from the right to the left arm in the last frame!

    @D. Snyder

    She didn’t switch hands. The chicken foot is still in her right hand. Like Frazz, her left hand is hidden.

    The panel shows she was holding the chicken leg with her right hand.

    I have seen some comments in the past about Mrs. Olsen being “mean” and not liking the kids. While this story line has softened that part of her, to me, there was never any doubt that she loved these kids. I think her image is partly due to the kids perception of her, and I think Jef writes that into her character. As a child I had several “Mrs. Olsen” type teachers, some of whom I grew up to know as an adult. I learned that they were completely different, loving people, and it was great to reminisce with them. I think all the characters of this strip are brilliant, but Mrs. Olsen is one of my favorites!
