    Soccer would be better if all the players wore blindfolds. The scores would be about the same, but it’d be a lot more funny.

    @solarrhino

    And THIS is why GoComics needs a “Like” button.

    Soccer may be ‘low-scoring’ but it certainly isn’t ‘tedious’. The gane keeps flowing, unlike American ‘football’, which has more stoppages, breaks and line-outs/ups (whatever!) than actual play, and which has got to be the least interesting ‘sport’ in the history of the world (and I include Kabbadi AND synchronised swimming in that statement).

    I read somewhere that the average NFL game has only 11 minutes of action.

    The most commonly used word in American spoken English? “The” And in British spoken English? “Nil,” from tv reporting on the soccer scores.

    It’s been said that football combines the two worst things about US culture. Committee meetings and violence.

    I have been lucky to see Condors several times, what a magnificent sight!

    As someone who doesn’t care for either “football” it’s hysterical to see that the only defense the tedious ones have is to attack the other type as being worse.

    Why Go Comics needs a like button…..No, they need a series…“belly laugh, guffaw, haha, giggle, snerk, ho-hum”…

    I agree. I love to play soccer. And if you’re looking for action, there’s as much contact if not more in soccer than football. I saw my first pro game, live, a couple weeks ago and I thought it was incredible.

    Football also has more rules that only makes sense to the commissioners than soccer.

    You are half right. Soccer combines the two worst – Sports and spectator violence.

    Oh, and if we want to talk about tedious sports, what’d ya call baseball, huh?

    The amount of active “play time” in American football is driven directly by the media and it’s need to air commercials. It’s a very lucrative business. I think I read somewhere that each team in the NFL (from the networks) enters the season with enough money to pay for the entire season! Player salaries, travel, et-al! Considering some of the high priced players, that’s a lotta moohla!
