When my daughter was in kindergarten, I often did her hair in cornrows. A little boy in her class had longer hair than she did, and his mother did his in rows, too.

And yet… just about everything that defines “progress” can be traced to human laziness. We domesticated the horse and invented the motorcycle because we were too lazy to walk all day like our ancestors did. We harnessed fire and invented cooking because we were too lazy to spend all day chewing roots like the less evolved hominids. Individually, laziness can lead to a “career” as a Mondomart checkout clerk, but for the species as a whole, it’s what leads to progress. Go figure…

conservatives say that people are lazy. mitt says that 47% are lazy. they say anyone in an union is lazy, even teachers who they wish to arm. but, making $1000000 from investments and interest is not lazy, it is work.

Robert Heinlein wrote a story about the “Tale of the Man Who Was Too Lazy to Fail” who succeeded at everything he did because he was trying to make life easier for himself. You can find it in his book “Time Enough for Love”.

LOL! There is a difference between lazy and improvement.
Not that I support the mondomarts of this world but check out clerks and support staff are necessary people in our society. People who don’t have a ‘monetarily successful career’ are not necessarily lazy or unsuccessful.

I guess it’s a matter of industrious people profiting from lazy people. Or maybe we like anything that saves time and energy so we can do other busy things.

Thank you so much! I feel like I have it a lot better than the poor patients that have to be admitted in the hospital over Christmas and other holidays…just having to work a shift during that time doesn’t seem so bad! I hope you and yours (as well as everyone here) have a very (healthy and safe) Merry Christmas! BTW, I always enjoy your jokes and posts, keep them coming!

not making a comment on anything but the 1 million in investments…that might not have been work, but getting the 10ish million that earned the profit probably was

Getting old may not be great, CasualObserver, but as I always say, it beats the heck out of the alternative …
