    A most exciting place to hear the latest spoiler alert. I’m sure people are lurking around the corner, just out of sight, waiting with baited breath for the latest.

    The perfect place for someone to hide after they “spill the beans”.

    At least the dates are not in some secret code that reveals the latest spoiler alert info…………….. (I don’t think they are)…

    So what are spoiler alerts anyhow? Can I feel them coming or do I just have to keep my eyes and ears open and hope to be surprised?

    See, this is what society has come to these days: spoiled milk from spoiled cows. Cows used to be “contented” (like Elsie), but now with premium hay and grain they’ve gotten spoiled. Fie, I say! It’s the entitlement mentality that’s bringing this country down! We need … (offstage aside: What? Oh, that kind of spoiled? Oops.)

    Sorry, never mind.

    Ernie, it’s not spoiled alerts, it’s spoiler alerts. Spoiled alerts are sometimes in the produce department and are also used by parents to warn babysitters.

    @TREEINTHEWIND

    “Spoiler Alerts” might also refer to warnings about lonely Grandmas in the area, yearning for spare grandchildren.

    Expiration dates on dairy are more like “suggestions”. It depends how long the product sat on a skid outside the cooler when it was delivered to the store (we were told an hour outside the cooler = a day off the expiration date).

    @TREEINTHEWIND

    “baited breath” conjures an odious image. bated breath might occur, also.

    I’ll go with abated breath.

    Thanks, I forgot to check Google………..
