    One of my friends was astonished just recently to discover that yeast + sugar + water results in alcohol … and this is one reason why baking bread has such a wonderful aroma.

    On a similar note, I heard an archaeologist on Time Team recently saying that beer can be described as “liquid bread” due to the similar processes used to make it.

    Used to think it would be nice to own a bakery until I talked to the local donut shop guy…He says he gets up at 11:30 pm to go to the shop and start making donuts…

    @Jo Clear (aka: Grasshopper)

    I thought about opening a bagel shop … until I realized that I would have to be there between 2-3 AM so that I could have things ready for a morning rush. No thanks.

    Your displays are certainly bulging and stretching their seams and the aromas are overflowing and overwhelming to the senses, expanding my concept of a small dessert.

    My last car didn’t start to develop an aroma until my kid left a Mcdonalds burger and fries under the seat for 6 months. Even a dozen new donuts couldn’t save it.
