   Given some of the dishonest appraisals I’ve seen and heard of, I’m not sure I’d trust that many employers out there today. From the goon that “fires” people when they have to lay off workers so they won’t have to pay unemployment, to the person who gets a good rating they don’t deserve.

   what can you do? if you say anything more than “yes, I can honestly testify that person once worked here”, you can be sued.
