   Big problem with second marriages is that the divorcee(s) take themselves into the new marriage.

   I don’t doubt that it will change now that the bulk of GenX women are finally starting to think marriage and a boatload of boomer women are divorcing to “play the field” like their daughters have since the 1980s, but the actual divorce numbers somewhat skewed. Serial divorcees break the average. What’s been happening is that 3 of 4 people marries and stays married, but that fourth person goes through multiple divorces. Messes the numbers up rather severely.
   .
   In thinking back, I can only think of one person who only divorced once. The rest, two, three, etc.

    It would help if there were some attempt to examine divorced marriages and help the persons deal with their personal issues before a second try.

    “…goes through multiple divorces…” My Ex is in that category- 6 times in all. I remarried and it lasted 19 years.

    Women seem to have difficulty saying ‘yes’ to a good man.
    Look at all the unwed pregnancies. Then, 50% that do get married dump the man for being unfit. Lots of those that don’t get divorced complain about abuse. Too many Single Moms live in poverty. It is time to assign qualified men to women or cut the woman’s Tubes.
