Frank and Ernest, created by Bob Thaves, chronicles the antics of two "everyman" characters who are anything but ordinary! They appear in different settings, time periods - even manifest as things and creatures other than people. The variety in the strip extends to their observations about a wide number of subjects.

Why didn’t the Bulk wear buttoned clothing? He expands and the buttons pop, rather than ripping the clothes to shreds…

Hmm, kind of wish my house would lose value. The city claims it’s worth more than I think it is and they raise my property taxes. But otherwise, I suppose they’d use the other excuses even more, like street, sewer maintenance, cost of public schools, etc.

Funny how everything but the upper part of the Hulk’s pants ripped to shreds. I would think his middle would expand past the circumference of his belt enough to break it. Must be the Western fear of naked people that did it.

Nah, but Batman is in a fly-by-night business. And the Atom’s work keeps shrinking. The Flash has to run at top speed just to keep up. . . .
