Frank and Ernest, created by Bob Thaves, chronicles the antics of two "everyman" characters who are anything but ordinary! They appear in different settings, time periods - even manifest as things and creatures other than people. The variety in the strip extends to their observations about a wide number of subjects.

“Mammoth Hunt – the Musical”
Nabuquduriuzhur said, 7 months ago
Such a musical would have to have a large trumpet section to simulate the mammoths’s trumpeting. BLAAAAT!

@Nabuquduriuzhur
And you would know this how, exactly? I’m fairly certain that no one has ever heard a mammoth trumpet.

What? Showing him knocking you in the head with his club and dragging you by your hair? Oh, yes, that’s very romantic.

@piloti: Of course no one living has heard a mammoth trumpet! That’s why it’s approximated. And, really, since no one has heard one, there’s absolutely no reason that it can’t be approximated as BLAAAAT. Lighten up, OK?

I believe that the earliest pornography was found in Egyptian archaeological sites.
Greece had much in its heyday as well – there were things considered normal for them that would get someone locked up for decades today. (Jerry Sandusky is a prime example)

Ashburn and Johnny, you remind me of the Romans too. The emperors (maybe other high ranking Roman officers) had their ‘minnows’ (usually boys who would ‘please’ them) and the bath and/or ‘public fun’ houses usually had porn on the walls and ceilings.

Of course , pornography has been around for thousands of years but nobody had anything to play it on until Edison invented the pornograph in the late 19th century.
