I bet anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist Comrade Marx lived quite
comfortably off his royalties from Das Kapital

Isn’t it the the way of hypocrites like Marx to denigrate that which pays their way? Like Hollywood hating America instead of themselves? Or college professors hating the capitalist system that allows them to buy their drugs…
    .
My favorites are the ones that absolutely love to do something wrong, then when something happens and they can’t do it any more, they turn around and claim to be victims in order to make money that way.

I see you know nothing about Marx… not surprising…. He was an idealist who thought the things he envisioned were far in the future when mankind had shown some sign of social evolution. He did not envison someone like Stalin who twisted his teachings and became a totalitarion dictator, who governed Russia the way Russia has always been governed, the only real change was that instead of a Royal head of state there was a non royal who pretty much did everything the same way as it always had. (I know this is way over simplified but I don’t have the time to be to detailed) Russia was never a socalist state the way Marx pictured one.

You would lose that bet. He lived rather simply and died not long after it was published.

Also, Marx was a Prussian German who lived in England for the last part of his life.

Marx thought human nature was something that could be changed. Didn’t happen and won’t.

Marx sought to lessen the impact of greed on human society. The problem was that the people who claimed to follow his principles replaced greed with a hunger for political power. The problem is that humanity wasn’t mature enough to change its nature.

I’m not a Marxist, but I am rather fond of the principles of Lennon (John, that is).

And everyone else’s money. Just like all socialists and communists.

Marx lived as he espoused, spouting off instead of providing for his wife.

Abandoning self-interest is not “mature”; people who claim it is are looking for a sucker.

Has happened, will happen We now think of women as equals instead of property, we have changed in millions of ways over the centuries. People use the human nature will never change as an excuse for bad actions but it is a Myth that is doesn’t change.
