In exit polls, no one ever owns up to voting informal.

Boxes of votes mysteriously appear or disappear in Oregon and Washington when the vote is close.
    .
Gregoire won that way over Rossi in 2004. Kitzhaber won his third term the same way.
    .
With court systems in each state that give preferential treatment to their party, it’s tough for everyone else when a crime is committed.

That reminds me of the old joke. “Did you ever see the Florida state quarter?” (You take out a nickel here.) “You have to count it 5 times.”

That is why the democrats did away with the electronic voting machines in so many states, so they can submit fake ballots.

ID is required to cash a check, use a credit card and get on an airplane…but not to vote. Go figure.

If you think it’s harder to rig an election using electronic machines that with paper ballots, you are mistaken. Computerized devices are much faster and require fewer people to be involved.

treesareus, ID is required to vote in Texas — where do you live?

You’re right, zoidknight. Electronic voting machine software can have a coding error, or be hacked, creating a fraud that can’t be detected. That’s why there’s a pushback in favor of paper ballots.

There is a whole subculture of lying on all kinds of polls. 1) My opinions are none of your business 2) why am I spending my time making your job easier

I suspect the biggest is non legal residents voting, however electronic voting would be nice if when they cleared a machine it would email everyone their votes, that way they can verify it.

In my state last election two machines were left unattended for a few hours and because of that they had to be hauled off and replacements came in, it delayed voting in that area for along time.

    There’s a quote:
“i don’t care who votes i care who counts the votes”

I recall that being attributed to a political boss in the early 19th century, but I can’t find a solid reliable reference. (I even found one attributing it to Stalin, which is ridiculous because he never once stood for election).

Does anybody know who really uttered that phrase?
