Tomorrow’s leacture is about peaceful, non-militant, non-violent, non- secretive, minor denominations.
    We’ll call it “safe sects”.

Next week we’ll discuss minor denominations with similar interests and goals cooperating and merging for a common goal. We’ll call it “same sects marriages”.

We’ll conclude our study with some of the most popular stances the minor denominations have taken on various subjects. It’s always been my favorite, “sects positions”.

Sometimes, sects are NOT minor religions; they are mega-sized denominations.

An “independent” church which has a name is a “denomination.”

The no-musical-instruments-in-worship-services Church of Christ folks claim that it is NOT a denomination. If those Churches of Christ were not a denomination, they would not have their own colleges and universities.

If the head of a religious sect dictates what its members do and how they dress, act, etc., the sect is a cult.

Do you include Catholic religious and monastic orders in that definition?

Did you know according to Bill Clinton that the R-L, Errel, and the O-R-L are not Sects? (sorry)

@bmonk: Yes, just in case JAD won’t answer.

The worry isn’t ‘are you a cult’ , but ‘are you occult’? The breakdown eventually gets to ‘WHo is it that you are serving and are they anti-Biblical which end up being anti-YHWH and anti- Messiah and anti-Torah.

‘Christ’ is a very generic term thrown out to just about every Greek god there was.’ Messiah’ title can only go to one, who is a Jew, and not a Greek.

I suspect that time must prove whether ‘anti-christs’ is the same as anti- Messiah and anti - (Torah) Word. All true occult will eventually fight against Torah and Messiah.
Dark vs. light; lawlessness vs. Torah; adding on and taking away (which leads to sects) vs. just the Torah and Prophets, of which Yeshua(Jesus) was one.

Even Paul liked to tell people how to wear their hair and act, so to an extent he would be a cult leader by JAD’s definition. . Head coverings seems to be one thing he may have added on to the Torah. Let me know if I am mistaken. (I don’t follow Paul, though he seems to have been trying his best. Inerrant letters ? Not likely.
