They appear in different settings, time periods - even manifest as things and creatures other than people. The variety in the strip extends to their observations about a wide number of subjects.

As one of my friends said of me “you’re an abyss of useless and arcane trivia.” I thought that was a very cool compliment.

a veritable font of useless information, that’s me.
ejcapulet, would you happen to know bullwinkle’s school colours?

You can’t get deeper than that.

@ejcapulet - your friends description of you is a perfect description of the internet

“useless and arcane trivia” is the most tautological phrase I’ve come across in a while! :-D

ejcapulate, how fortunate you are to have such an intelligible friend. Mine said I’m a “babbling idiot” and I’m not sure how he meant it.

Ochre and blue (at least that’s what they say in the school song), but sometimes you see Bullwinkle wearing a red and yellow sweater.

Sad but true: Rocky and Bullwinkle ran from 1959 to 1964. I was born in 1979 so I have no excuse for knowing this stuff.

I know a little about everything, but I don’t claim to know a whole lot about anything.

There are people who are very good at giving answers to trivia questions. But, if you ask them to give you more information about a particular topic related to a trivia item, they can’t tell you anything.
John Ratzenberger’s “Cliff Clavin” character on the “Cheers” TV show was one of those people.
I do watch a number of TV trivia type shows. If I know the answer to the question (or as in the case of “Jeopardy,” I know the question to the answer), I usually know a few or a whole lot more details about the trivia subject.
I am not a know-it-all like some of the rude people who post comments in Go Comics think that I am. I just know a lot of different things.
