Big problem with second marriages is that the divorcee(s) take themselves into the new marriage..I don’t doubt that it will change now that the bulk of GenX women are finally starting to think marriage and a boatload of boomer women are divorcing to “play the field” like their daughters have since the 1980s, but the actual divorce numbers somewhat skewed. Serial divorcees break the average. What’s been happening is that 3 of 4 people marries and stays married, but that fourth person goes through multiple divorces. Messes the numbers up rather severely..In thinking back, I can only think of one person who only divorced once. The rest, two, three, etc.
