    Brother-in-law once saw a cartoon, although he couldn’t find it to show me, where a large, ornate zero is being carried through a large, adoring crowd on a large, ornate sedan chair; the people are bowing to it, dancing before it, throwing garlands of flowers onto it. One bystander asks another, “Is nothing sacred?”
