    If only a teenager could see this as a lesson instead of feeling that he/she “got away with it”.

    Why is she forgiven – because of a mother’s love – just say it and move on – the lesson will be learned.

    It’s not only teenagers that fail to understand. For me I find it easier to understand the teenager fail than a supposedly fully mature adult’s “got away with it” attitude.
    I am far away from a teenager @ 67 years old!

    I disagree. Paige recognizes and admits she has done wrong, has asked her mother for forgiveness, and has received forgiveness after Mom gives her a brief object lesson. I’d say she got the lesson quite well.
