    Isn’t the proper term… Nerd, as in smart?

    @Zero-Gabriel

    Nerd is often confused with geek. In today’s lingo, both have taken on the meaning of technical or computer enthusiast. Geek is generally more diverse in technologies and more outgoing than a nerd.
    .
    Nerd is usually considered being tied to a single technological interest. Nerd also has the additional connotation of being foolish and socially inept or awkward.
    .
    However, the more people confuse and interchange usage, the more the recognized definitions can change,
    .
    Both words existed before the technology age with different meanings. Geeks were associated with carnivals and nerds were just foolish, socially inept and awkward.
    .
    One can be a geek or nerd and not be particularly smart outside their field(s) of interest. Either could be a whiz at fixing a computer, informed and obsessive about talking about it, and they could be flunking the rest of their classes.That’s not to say they can’t be smart. It’s just that smart is not part of the definition of either.

    When you got it, flaunt it. Isn’t that what we are told or is just reserved for a select few?

    For some it will always be an insult. Others a badge to wear.

    Using a two would have been completely rational.

    Actually, the square root of two is irrational. One, four, and nine are the only single digit numbers with rational roots.

    If he wasn’t intent on upstaging Page he could have made “root sixty-six.” (Now that would have been irrational!)
